FAQ

Our Products

Our fishing rods are manufactured using high-quality Japanese Toray carbon fibre, full Toray resin prepreg, and Nano-Alloy resin in many models, Fuji guides and reel seats.

Our fishing rods are the result of a collaborative effort between our Australian team and our international manufacturing partners. Our design team consists of staff from Australia, Korea, Taiwan, and China. The rods are assembled in China in a world-class facility with excellent working conditions.

We understand that some customers may have concerns about products assembled in China, but we want to assure you that we are committed to producing high-quality, high-performance rods that are just as good as, if not better than, high-end rods from anywhere in the world.

We subject all rods to rigorous testing by expert anglers and Fishlogica staff in Australia. We are dedicated to being transparent about our manufacturing process and maintaining credibility in our marketing practices.

Our fishing rods are built to exceptional standards of performance and durability, thanks to our rigorous quality control process. This process involves several key steps:

  1. We closely collaborate with our manufacturing partners, who have supplied the highest of quality fishing rods to the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) for over 40 years.
  2. We use only the best materials available, including Japanese Toray carbon fiber, Toray resin prepregs, and Fuji guides.
  3. We take great care in transporting, storing, and handling the carbon fiber prepreg as recommended by Toray to ensure that the materials maintain their mechanical properties and shelf life. We use refrigerated facilities for this purpose.
  4. Our Australian and overseas staff conduct regular factory visits and inspections to oversee the production process and ensure that we adhere to our stringent quality assurance processes.
  5. Finally, our Australian staff performs a series of thorough final quality checks on each and every fishing rod before it leaves the factory to ensure that it meets our high standards.

Proper storage is essential to maintain the longevity and performance of your fishing rod. Follow these guidelines for storing your rod:

  • Disassemble the rod if it's a multi-piece model and ensure it's completely dry before storage.
  • Once the rod is dry, use the neoprene rod sleeve that comes with your Fishlogica rod or a case to protect your rod from dust, dirt and accidental damages during transportation and storage.
  • Store the rod straight, horizontally or vertically in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Make sure the rod is adequately supported to prevent bending or warping. Avoid tip loading by leaning against walls or storing with the line under tension.

Our website provides detailed product specifications for each fishing rod, including the recommended line class and lure weight ranges. It's crucial to follow these recommendations to achieve optimal performance and prevent damage to the rod.

The frequency of line replacement depends on factors such as usage, line type, and fishing conditions. As a general guideline, consider replacing your line:

  • Every 4-6 months if you fish frequently or in abrasive conditions.
  • Once a year if you fish occasionally or in less demanding environments.
  • Immediately if you notice signs of wear or damage, such as fraying, nicks, or reduced flexibility.

When selecting the appropriate reel to pair with your fishing rod, consider factors such as the type of fishing you plan to do, the target species, the fishing environment, and your skill level. Choose a reel with the suitable size, drag, gear ratio, and line capacity that complements your fishing rod's specifications. Our customer support team is available to help you choose the right reel based on your specific requirements and we’ll go into this further via a blog on the website.

Casting rods and spinning rods differ primarily in the type of reel they are designed to accommodate, and the technique used for casting. Casting rods are designed for use with baitcasting reels, which sit on top of the rod. They generally offer greater accuracy and control for experienced anglers but can be challenging for beginners due to the risk of backlash. Spinning rods are designed for use with spinning reels, which hang below the rod. They are typically more user-friendly, making them a popular choice for beginners and casual anglers.

  1. Remove the reel from the rod with the drag tight and rinse it gently with fresh water to remove dirt, sand, and debris. Be careful not to drive water into the drag or reel workings. Mildly soapy water on a soft cloth is good to wipe down the reel.
  2. Dry the reel thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth.
  3. Lubricate the reel's moving parts with high-quality reel oil or grease, following the manufacturer's recommendations.
  4. Check for wear, damage, or corrosion and address any issues promptly to ensure the reel's longevity and performance.
  5. Once completely dry, loosen the drag and store in a cool dry location out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the reel manufacturer’s reel bag if it came with one.

Yes, our fishing rods come with protective high-quality neoprene sleeves included to ensure the safety and longevity of your rod during transportation and storage. These sleeves are designed to fit the specific model of your fishing rod and provide adequate protection against dust, dirt, and accidental damage. We highly recommend using the included rod sleeve whenever you transport or store your fishing rod.
